Alright! Who took our angel puppy and replaced him with the devil dog? Can we have our cute, quiet little Zeke back please and not this terrorizing, biting, yapping creature! What a difference one week can make in the life of a puppy!
Zeke has finally discovered his voice and has been intent on using it whenever the phone rings, when we want to hold a meeting or when someone leaves the confines of the inner office. And it’s absolutely ear splitting! The neighboring offices must think we’ve hired Cruella de Vil and she’s torturing a room full of puppies!
Not to mention that anything within a foot from the ground now has teeth marks in it!
Zeke has also decided over the last few days, that even though he’s quite capable of using his Pet Loo, that he’d rather pee beside it, pee on his bed or pee behind our chairs. He enjoys playing with the paper towel when we clean up after him so much, that he will sometimes pee next to a fresh pee just so that more paper towel can be used.
It was time for the Office parents to put a foot down. Zeke’s movement around the office was cut off completely. He was reduced to a small area of linoleum in which he can play (lino is much easier to mop up than carpet) at all other times he was put on his leash and kept within the office.
By having Zeke on his leash, it made it much easier to keep him on The Pet Loo when it was time to do his business.
When he toilets successfully on his Loo, we reward him with a treat or playful pat. It’s far more effective to praise the heck out of your pup when they do the right thing, then it is to yell or punish them when they do the wrong thing.
That being said, after a few days of being on his leash Zeke began behaving well enough to be let off for a few hours every day. His toilet training was finally bounding (and weeing) in the right direction! He would run and play and yelp and bite, but whenever he felt the urge to go, he would dash up onto his Loo and ‘go wees’ without the assistance (or persistence) of an office parent!

A whole week into toilet training and I can honestly say we’ve dealt with everything that can possibly come out of a puppy! And if there is one upside to all the accidents, it’s that Zeke couldn’t have chosen a better workplace to have them – everything we need to clean up after him is under the one roof. Liquid Ate has come in handy on many occasions this week already. It really is the best stain and odour eliminator on the market, as the office looks and smells as clean as the day Zeke pitter-patted in.
What an excellent day it has been - the distinctive slap of hand-to-hand contact echoed across Collingwood today, as high fives reigned supreme in Pup-Pee Head Office!
He did it, he did it all on his own!
After a particularly crazy play session, the office parents gathered around to watch Zeke confidently make his way to The Pet Loo, bounce up all by himself and wee directly on the centre of the grass! We were like teenagers at a Jonas Brothers concert, there was jumping and dancing and hysterics, and of course high fives, all round!
But sure enough, in the thrill of all the jumping and high fiving, Zeke’s own excitement got the better of him and he piddled right at our feet, on the carpet. It was a short trip back to reality for the team, as the celebratory champagne was put back in the fridge. But after only seven days of toilet boot camp, we realised that we were jumping the gun a little bit. Toilet training graduation was still a while off and we needed to continue being as patient and as vigilant with Zeke as possible.
But at least we know that he’s on the way - peeing by himself on the Loo was one giant wee for puppy-kind!

It seemed that a nine week old puppy was getting the better of us after only four days in. As a team we knew that we had started off well - we had practically grown eyes in the backs of our heads - but it didn’t take long for Zeke’s confidence to grow and along with it his curiosity.
As he ventured into new rooms around the office and warehouse, it seemed no space was too small for him to squeeze into. Try as we might to keep an eye on him on each of his little adventures, office life had to continue and so our watchful eyes grew blinkers.
It was two days in that we noticed the first ‘ninja poo’. It appeared that Zeke could move between rooms with such stealth, that his accidents came out of thin air.
We knew that training a puppy to use The Pet Loo would take longer, as he didn’t just have to get used to where he was supposed to toilet, but also to learn his own bladder and bowel movements. The trick at this time was to catch him at the right moment.
We were putting him on the Loo after meals, after play sessions and after sleeps, and although this helped us with several successful ‘toilets’ there were still those ninja poos to deal with.
We decided our best option was to restrain him to one room of the office with his Pet Loo inside and an office parent watching over him with eagle eyes. The slightest crouch or squat meant that he was swooped up and put on the Loo faster than he could blink. Success! Not a single ninja poo or wet spot on the carpet for the rest of the day.
Containing a puppy to one area (sometimes referred to as crate training) doesn’t just prevent ninja poos but also stops puppies from ruling the roost. They need to know their limitations (and yours too!).
By restricting his access to rooms around the office Zeke will learn that there is a time for play, a time for rest and time for work.

It’s the most exciting day we’ve had in the office this year! Not only did very little work get done in the morning, as we all laughed and giggled at what a delight little Zeke was, and how quiet he was for a pup, but so did everyone else in the surrounding offices. It seemed anyone that could make an excuse to knock on our door, did!
And Zeke was the perfect little angel through all the pats and cuddles from so many new faces. All he had to do was bat his ginger eyelashes to get every adult in the room talking in that funny, high-pitched voice normally used on small children; “Who’s a gorgeous little boy? You are Zeke, you are!”
No one was more excited when we pulled The Mini Wee Pet Loo out of the box than Zeke – though he was more interested in rolling on the grass, than using it as a toilet. But hey, that’s all part of the training right?
We armed ourselves with paper towel, Liquid Ate (Stain eliminator) and Whiff Off (odour eliminator) ready for the onslaught of pee! How disappointed we were – there was no need for our preparations at all! Within minutes of being in the office Zeke had already done a number two’s on the Mini Wee and under the watchful eye of his many new office parents, had been spotted in the squat position and swiftly picked up and placed on the Mini Wee before a single drip fell onto the carpet.
Pup-Pee Team: 2
Puppy: 0
Though by mid-morning he was passed out in that position favoured by most dogs; flat on his back, spread eagled, snoring that cute little puppy snore (you know the one, it gets louder and less cute the bigger they grow!).
When he finally woke up in the afternoon we had a ‘number one’ accident followed shortly by a ‘number one’ jackpot! A direct pee on the Mini Wee, though this was a pick up by an office parent rather than Zeke making the effort himself.
We placed him on the Mini Wee after his accident to help him associate the Loo with toileting and he was given a treat after his ‘jackpot’ pee! You can never praise young pups enough when they do the right thing – it will only encourage them to continue with that particular behavior in future.
All in all, we left the office unscathed and feeling rather happy about ourselves. Every dog, just like every toddler, takes toilet training at their own pace and it seemed that Zeke was making this a lot easier on us then we could have ever hoped for!

PUP-PEE SOLUTIONS Launches NO RANGE
A 100% Natural Solution for Smells and Stains
Australian pet product company, Pup-Pee Solutions has launched No Range, a line of enzyme products designed to naturally treat pet smells and stains.
The enzymes in No Range dissolve organic matter from pet accidents, blood, food and beverages quickly and easily. Their natural, biodegradable formula does not harm or discolor carpets or upholstery or irritate sensitive skin, eyes or noses. “With the No Range in your home you literally have trillions of natural enzymes working for you to break down undesirable organic material safely and effectively; resulting in a healthier pet and home,” says Tobi Skovron, founder of Pup Pee Solutions.
The No Range consists of three core products; Wee Care, Liquid-ate and Whiff-off.
Wee Care: Developed to create a healthy habitat for your pet and your family; Wee Care eliminates germs from a pet’s waste and toileting area. This product was developed to be used with The Pet Loo, “A back yard in a box” that allows an animal to relieve itself when its owner can’t be there.
Liquid-Ate: Eliminates stains and odors permanently, such as pet stains and accidents, blood stains, food & beverage spillage, feces, urine and vomit. Unlike competing products that mask odors temporarily, Liquid-ate safely combats the root of the problem making the home a cleaner and healthier place to be.
Whiff-Off: A specifically formulated mixture of citrus scents and enzymes that effectively eliminates airborne odors from any pet source, permanently.
Features of No Range:
· Safe for your pet & the whole family
· 100% natural & biodegradable
· Permanently removes ALL organic odors & stains
· Hypo-allergenic
· Discourages pets from re-soiling in the same area
How do enzymes work?
Enzymes are complex protein molecules that promote the rapid progress of nearly every chemical reaction essential to life. In nature, enzymes decompose organic material by breaking it down to its original components, such as carbon dioxide and water – and this is exactly what they do in the No Range.
The No Range are revolutionary products that are non-toxic, non-irritating, 100% biodegradable and harmless to your pet, family & environment.

“People support what they help create,” says Jerry Lynch from GMP Friction Products. And that’s exactly what we feel at Pup-Pee Solutions.
Our products were created out of necessity for pet owners and their pets. Every step of the creation process we constantly raised the question “what do people want?” And once we had all practical bases perfected and manufactured we were able to look at the product image.
Our enzyme range of cleaning solutions; Wee Care, Whiff Off and Liquid Ate were launched over a year ago and are selling incredibly well. With the release of three sister products just last month; Pup Care, Critter Care and Kitty Care, we felt it was time to set our Marketing Gurus loose on creating a more uniformed and attractive look and feel.
“There is no way to mistake the ubiquitous trademarked Coca-Cola bottle with any of their competitors.” [1] Our aim was to create a look that would “pop”. An image that was highly recognizable no matter where it was positioned on the retailer’s shelf, or in which country it was being sold. The same notion applied to the naming of our new products.
“It may be true that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but would it sell as well? After all, no one ever named a child after the flossflower. So it goes with new products. However good it is, the name attached to it has to do its job, too.”[2]
Pup-Pee Solutions has gone beyond traditional approaches on branding to make what we hope to be an irresistible brand identity.
Our enzyme range products are available now. Click here to find your nearest retailer.

Founder of United Pet Group comes out of retirement to endorse a pet toilet
Orlando, FL (February, 2009) – United Pet Group founder Mark Stern has left retirement to sanction a unique dog toilet from Australia he believes will be a smash hit with pet owners.
The Pet Loo is a “back yard in a box” that fits inside homes, so animals can relieve themselves when owners can’t be there. Stern, who has been retired for three years, joined Pet Loo co-inventor Tobi Skovron when he exhibited the product for ‘a twice-a-day problem’ at the Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida last week.
Stern knows pet products – his businesses have been central to the massive growth of what is now a $60 billion plus industry. “When I met Tobi and Nicole and they showed me their product I was very
impressed. The Pet Loo is a unique globally patented solution to an age old problem,” says Stern.
Until 2005, Stern headed UPG which established brands including Nature’s Miracle, Dingo, 8 in 1, Marine land and Perfecto that lead the global pet industry, today – it was sold to Spectrum Brands in 2005
Skovron, 28, hopes that Stern’s insight will help to grow their business in the world’s largest consumer market. “Strategic advice from someone with Mark’s industry experience is a tremendous asset for our young company as we start to grow in the US,” he says.
Fate brought Skovron and Stern together in New York last July when Skovron travelled to Manhattan to set up The Pet Loo’s US Office. Skovron and his sister-in-law, Nicole sat next to Stern at Murray’s Bagels.
The rest is history. They stayed in touch and last month Stern agreed to work with the company to dominate pet waste management around the world.

Road testing The Pet Loo
With Sharon Forest
I was always interested in The Pet Loo, right from the moment I first laid eyes on it. The idea of no longer having to sacrifice my sleep, social life or job, as I had to be home to let my ‘best friend’ do their business, was a blessing.
So when I was approached by the Director of the company, Tobi Skovron, to road test the product I jumped at the chance. I was given a Pet Loo and two weeks in which to test it.
I couldn’t wait to get it home.
Task: Investigate and assess pet waste management system
Weapon of choice: The Pet Loo Original (83cm x 83cm | 33”x33”)
Target: Ed, 6 year old male Labrador
Training:
Ed, while having basic obedience skills, would never have made it as a guide dog. For this reason I made sure to read the training advice on the box carefully. I even had a peek at the training videos on The Pet Loo’s website.
It took some effort on both mine and Ed’s behalf, but then I never expected him to know it was a dog potty when I first placed it on the ground. Starting over the weekend helped out as I was able to supervise him while he did his business. It only took a few basic commands and a lot of praise when he got things right, to feel confident enough to leave him on his own when Monday and my job came rolling around. I will admit that he did have an accident or two along the way in incorrect places (nothing a bit of Liquid Ate couldn’t fix) but after two weeks he was using the Loo as if he had done so all his life.
Impact on the environment:
Minimal to none. Urine and faeces are flushed down the toilet, or if you prefer you can throw faeces in the bin just as you would if you were in your local park. The Pet Loo is a one off buy, so you’re not filling up landfill with products like puppy pads, which require daily replacement.
Cleaning:
I spend more time cleaning my own toilet then I have done with the Pet Loo! The Loo should be emptied daily, with warm water to be poured over the grass to flush out any excess waste. Cleaning really only comes in once a week when the unit needs to be rinsed with high powered water, in my case the shower, and left to dry. That’s it! No messing around with scrubbing brushes, gloves or bleach.
Product Quality:
This thing is tough! No joke. Ed is indulged by the odd treat or two (or ten!) and may not be the lightest Labrador there is, but on the first day we used the Loo I found myself and Ed standing on top of it, wriggling, sniffing and circling about. Later that day, it survived my 2 ten year old nephews jumping on it, and then because I had talked it up so much, their 85 kg father also had a go. That isn’t to say that it was designed to fit an elephant, but I’m happy in with the knowledge that it can take a few knocks before it gets damaged.
Dislikes:
For the newly converted like myself, it was hard to find a fault in the product. Only a small accident when I was empting a very full catchment jug, made me think it would be great if it was slightly bigger. I put this thought to Tobi who as usual was one step ahead of the game. He advised me that modifications were being made to The Pet Loo and Mini Wee, a major change including the catchment jug growing in size to hold 2 litres of liquid.
Overview:
I don’t know why I didn’t get my hands on one of these before! Ask any parent of a newly toilet trained toddler how much easier life is and they’d probably give you the same answer. No one likes to deal with pet waste and many other pet toileting products out on the market just seemed a bit… well, icky! Any product created to make pet waste management painless and uncomplicated should be bought the same day you bring your puppy home.
